Abstract
Embodiments of the current invention provide a solution to the problems associated with balancing patient toxicity with broad efficacy of cancer therapy. In particular, embodiments are directed to anti-cancer peptides that demonstrate a broad anti-cancer efficacy with a limited toxicity to normal or non-cancer cells.
Claims21
A method for treating cancer comprising administering an effective amount of a therapeutic composition comprising one or more peptide that is 90 to 100% identical to a peptide selected from SEQ ID NO:2, SEQ ID NO:3, SEQ ID NO:4, or a functional segment thereof comprising SEQ ID NO:5 to a subject having cancer.
A method for inducing apoptosis in a cancer cell comprising contacting the cancer cell with an effective amount of one or more peptide having 90 to 100% identity to a peptide selected from SEQ ID NO:2, SEQ ID NO:3, SEQ ID NO:4, or a functional segment thereof comprising SEQ ID NO:5.
An anti-cancer peptide composition comprising one or more peptide components having 90 to 100% identity to a peptide selected from SEQ ID NO:2, SEQ ID NO:3, SEQ ID NO:4, or a functional segment thereof.
An anti-cancer peptide composition comprising a peptide having 90 to 100% identity to SEQ ID NO:2.
An anti-cancer peptide composition comprising a peptide having 90 to 100% identity to SEQ ID NO:3.
An anti-cancer peptide composition comprising a peptide having 90 to 100% identity to SEQ ID NO:4.
An anti-cancer peptide composition comprising a peptide having 90 to 100% identity to a functional segment of SEQ ID NO:5.
