Surgical support system with support top height adjustment

A surgical table comprising

• a foundation frame including a first column, a second column spaced apart from the first column,
• a support top situated between the first and second columns and configured to support a patient thereon, and
• a bracket coupled to the first column and to the support top, the bracket including:
• an upper base member,
• a lower base member spaced apart from the upper base member, and
• a support-top height adjuster interconnecting the upper and lower base members, the support-top height adjuster being operable to establish a selected height of the support top relative to the foundation frame,
• wherein the support-top height adjuster includes a guide member interconnecting the upper and lower base members and a carriage assembly coupled to the support top and movable slidably along the guide member, wherein the guide member includes an outer sleeve defining a sleeve interior, a threaded rod arranged to lie within the sleeve interior, and a retainer, the retainer being coupled to the carriage assembly and threadingly engaged with the threaded rod to move therealong when the carriage assembly moves along the outer sleeve.
