Abstract
A tissue displacing and fastening device is provided for manipulating and fastening tissue together. The device includes a tissue displacing elements, which displaces tissue. A fold is formed from the displaced tissue and the tissue is fastened together to secure the fold.

A system for forming a fold of tissue, the system comprising:
- a tissue manipulating device comprising:
- a shaft extending along a length;
- and
- a first tissue displacing element operatively coupled to the shaft, the tissue displacing element being configured to engage tissue;
- and
- one or more fasteners deployable from the tissue manipulating device to fasten a fold of tissue.

- a tissue manipulating device comprising:
- a shaft extending along a length;
- and
- a first tissue displacing element operatively coupled to the shaft, the tissue displacing element being configured to engage tissue;
- a tension sensor coupled to the first tissue displacing element, the tension sensor configured to measure a tension on the first tissue displacing element during displacement of the stomach tissue;

- an indicator which provides an indication to a user relating to the tension sensed by the tension sensor;

- one or more fasteners deployable from the tissue manipulating device to fasten a fold of tissue.
