Abstract
Provided are measurement devices and systems for measuring the blood oxygenation of organs and tissue. Aspects of the technology provide measurement devices and systems which combine multiple forms of spectral analysis, and multiple frequencies of light in order to allow for analysis of blood oxygenation at a range of depths within the organs and tissue.
Claims39
A measurement device for use in measuring oxygen saturation levels in an organ and/or tissue, the measurement device comprising:
- a housing having a first end and a second end, the first end being distal to the second end, and the housing comprising:
- a first set of light guides configured to receive a first source of light, and direct the first source of light through one or more transmission media and out of the first end,
- a second set of light guides configured to receive a second source of light, and direct the second source of light through one or more transmission media and out of the first end,
- a third set of light guides configured to receive a third source of light, and to direct the third source of light into a signal acquisition unit and/or processor configured to perform a Raman spectral analysis of the third source of light,
- a fourth set of light guides configured to receive a fourth source of light, and to direct the fourth source of light into a signal acquisition unit and/or processor configured to perform visible and/or near-infrared spectral analysis of the fourth source of light.
