Abstract
An integrable eyewear holder for apparel provides a secure and convenient storage solution for eyeglasses and sunglasses. The holder has two layers of low or no-stretch materials with a low coefficient of friction, facilitating the easy insertion and removal of eyewear temples. The first and second layers are coupled together and form a temple funnel. Affixed regions of the layers can be joined using various methods such as ultrasonic welding, sewing, or gluing. The holder can be integrated into various areas of a garment to protect the garment from damage. The holder's dimensions may be chosen to accommodate and secure conventional eyewear temple dimensions.
Claims20
An integrable eyewear holder for apparel, comprising:
- a first layer of material, and
- a second layer of material affixed to the first layer at lateral portions thereof, the second layer having a length that is less than the length of the first layer such that an upper portion of the first layer is exposed, the exposed upper portion of the first layer forming a landing that is adapted for receiving a tip of an eyewear temple;
- the first layer and the second layer forming a bottom opening and a top opening, thereby forming a passage between the first layer and the second layer upon insertion of an eyewear temple;
- at least one of the layers stretches no more than 20 percent in a direction perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the eyewear holder;
- wherein the eyewear holder is configured to be attachable to a garment, thereby providing storage for the eyewear.
An integrable eyewear holder for apparel, comprising:
- a first layer of fabric having a low coefficient of friction and low or no stretch properties;
- a second layer of fabric having a low coefficient of friction and low or no stretch properties, the second layer being coupled to the first layer to form a tube-like structure with a top opening and a bottom opening, wherein the tube-like structure is configured to receive and securely hold a temple of eyewear;
- affixed regions along the length of the second layer on both sides, joining the first and second layers, wherein the affixed regions are formed by ultrasonic welding, sewing, or gluing;
- and
- an adhesive backing on the first layer, allowing the holder to be applied to any garment or surface via pressure or ironing;
- wherein the integrable eyewear holder is attachable to various parts of a garment, including a shoulder, lapel, or leg of a pant, jogger, or shorts, providing a secure and convenient storage solution for eyewear.
An integrable eyewear holder for apparel, comprising:
- a first layer of fabric having a low coefficient of friction and low or no stretch properties, the first layer having a length L1 of at least 3.25 inches and no more than 5.75 inches and a width W1 of at least 0.75 inches and no more than 1.5 inches;
- and
- a second layer of fabric having a length L2 of at least 2.375 inches and no more than no more than 4.875 inches and a width W2 of at least 0.75 inches and no more than 1.5 inches, ;
- the first layer and the second layer being coupled together at lateral regions thereof to define affixed regions that are spaced apart by a width W3 of at least 0.375 inches and no more than 0.625 inches;
- wherein the first layer and the second layer are configured to receive and retain a temple of eyewear and to facilitate insertion of a temple of eyewear therebetween;
- and
- wherein the integrable eyewear holder is attachable to a part of a garment, including a shoulder, lapel, or leg of a pant, jogger, or shorts.
