Abstract
A wearable airbag and a system thereof are provided. The wearable body includes: a main body d to wrap around a neck area of a wearer; a cushion accommodated in the main body, and for being inflated by injection of gas from an inflator to be deployed to a head area of the wearer; a first tether accommodated in the main body and coupled to a first side in a longitudinal direction of the main body; a second tether accommodated in the main body, coupled to a second side in the longitudinal direction of the main body, and spaced apart from the first tether; and a tightener rotatably coupled to the main body and connected to the first tether and the second tether, and configured to pull the first tether and the second tether.
Claims15
A wearable airbag comprising:
- a main body configured to wrap around a neck area of a wearer;
- a cushion accommodated in the main body, and configured to be inflated by injection of gas from an inflator to be deployed to a head area of the wearer;
- a first tether accommodated in the main body and coupled to a first side in a longitudinal direction of the main body;
- a second tether accommodated in the main body, coupled to a second side in the longitudinal direction of the main body, and spaced apart from the first tether;
- and
- a tightener rotatably coupled to the main body and connected to the first tether and the second tether, and configured to pull the first tether and the second tether.
A wearable airbag system, comprising:
- an inflator;
- a main body configured to wrap around a neck area of a wearer;
- a cushion accommodated in the main body;
- an impact detection sensor;
- an airbag controller configured to control the inflator to inject gas into the cushion for deployment to a head area of the wearer based on sensing of an impact by the impact detection sensor;
- a first tether accommodated in the main body and coupled to a first side in a longitudinal direction of the main body;
- a second tether accommodated in the main body, coupled to a second side in the longitudinal direction of the main body, and spaced apart from the first tether;
- and
- a tightener rotatably coupled to the main body and connected to the first tether and the second tether, and configured to pull the first tether and the second tether.
