Abstract
A remote engagement system for a live event occurring at a venue includes an output device located at the venue or remotely from the venue for providing audio and/or visual output to at least one recipient. A controller receives signals, such signals being representative of physical reactions of remote viewers and being transmitted from a plurality of user input devices located remotely from each other and from the venue and controls the output device located at the venue or remotely from the venue to provide an audio and/or visual output to people at the venue or located remotely from the venue.
Claims20
An engagement system for a live event occurring at a venue, comprising:
- an output device for audibly and/or visually displaying physical reactions of a plurality of individuals which occur during different times of the live event;
- a plurality of wearable devices which are worn by different individuals of the plurality of individuals during the live event, wherein the wearable devices are selected from the group consisting of a wristband, shirt, or jersey, wherein each of the wearable devices comprises
- a detector which detects information representative of one or more physical reactions of an individual wearing a wearable device of the plurality of wearable devices, and
- a transmitter configured to send signals to the output device for output on the output device for audibly and/or visually displaying information representative of physical reactions of the individual wearing the wearable device,
- wherein the physical reactions are selected from the group consisting of
- a heart rate of the individual wearing the wearable device,
- an indication that the individual wearing the wearable device has raised one or more arms,
- an indication that the individual wearing the wearable device has executed a particular movement or signal with their arms which is not applause and is different from raising one or more arms,
- an indication of a standing ovation,
- cheering,
- yelling a particular statement different from cheering,
- wherein the output device audibly indicates or displays one or more of
- information for specific individuals representative of physical reactions at specific times during the live event, and
- information pertaining to an additive total number of signals of the plurality wearable devices at one or more different times during the live event which are indicative of one or more of
- individuals with an elevated heart rate,
- individuals giving a standing ovation
- individuals that are cheering,
- individuals that are yelling a particular statement different from cheering,
- individuals that have raised one or more arms,
- individuals that have executed a particular movement with their arms which is not applause and is different from raising one or more arms.
A wearable device selected from a wristband, shirt or jersey, for an engagement method for a live event occurring at a venue, comprising:
- a detector associated with the wearable device which detects information representative of one or more physical reactions of a person wearing the wearable device;
- a transmitter configured to send one or more signals representative of a physical reaction of the one or more physical reactions of a person wearing the wearable device during a plurality of different portions of the live event to an output device, wherein the one or more signals are useable by the output device to audibly and/or visually indicate one or more physical reactions of the person selected from the group consisting of
- a heart rate of the remote viewer;
- an indication that the remote viewer has raised one or more arms;
- an indication of a standing ovation;
- and
- an indication that the remote viewer has executed a particular movement or signal with their hands that is not applause and is different from raising their arms.
