Abstract
There is provided systems and methods for estimating quality of experience, QoE, for a media stream. The systems and methods comprise receiving a first window of frames of the media stream, receiving a second window of frames of the media stream, measuring a plurality of metrics relating to the first and the second windows of frames, aggregating the plurality of metrics for each window of frames, and determining a window quality of experience value based on the aggregated plurality of metrics.

A method comprising:
- receiving a media stream comprising a sequence of video frames;
- identifying at least one short-term Quality of Experience (QoE) metric based at least in part on analysis of two adjacent segments of the media stream;
- identifying at least one long-term QoE metric based at least in part on analysis of a plurality of windows of video frames that are sampled from the media stream using at least one time offset between windows of the plurality of windows;
- evaluating streaming performance of the media stream based at least in part on applying respective weighing factors to the at least one short-term QoE metric and the at least one long-term QoE metric;
- and
- taking corrective action based at least in part on the evaluating of the streaming performance of the media stream.

A system comprising:
- input/output circuitry configured to:
- receive a media stream comprising a sequence of video frames;
- control circuitry configured to:
- identify at least one short-term Quality of Experience (QoE) metric based at least in part on analysis of two adjacent segments of the media stream;
- identify at least one long-term QoE metric based at least in part on analysis of a plurality of windows of video frames that are sampled from the media stream using at least one time offset between windows of the plurality of windows;
- evaluate streaming performance of the media stream based at least in part on applying respective weighing factors to the at least one short-term QoE metric and the at least one long-term QoE metric;
- and
- input/output circuitry configured to:
- take corrective action based at least in part on the evaluation of the streaming performance of the media stream.
