Abstract
A portable device mount system and method is provided that enables a user to record a sporting event such as a tennis match or pickleball match. The portable device mount system and method includes a telescopic pole, a hanger configured to removably mount onto a structure such as a fence rail, an electronic device holder that tilts forward and backward, and a sunshade coupled to the device holder. The portable device mount system may also include a power source, securing mechanisms, set points, and other features.
Claims20
A portable device mount system comprising:
- a telescopic pole with a first end and a second end opposite the first end;
- a hanger coupled to the telescopic pole, the hanger configured to removably mount the portable device mount system onto a structure;
- a device holder disposed near the first end of the telescopic pole;
- wherein the device holder has opposite portions and one or more knobs;
- wherein the device holder is configured to hold a device by actuating the one or more knobs to squeeze the device between the opposite portions;
- wherein the device is a smartphone or tablet;
- wherein the device is configured to execute a software application for recording, analyzing, or live streaming a sporting event;
- a sunshade coupled to the device holder at or adjacent to the one or more knobs on the device holder;
- wherein the sunshade is substantially rectangular in shape and positioned on top of, and substantially parallel to and flush with, a screen of the device held in the device holder;
- and
- wherein the hanger is adjustable or bendable to accommodate different sized structures.
A method for mounting a device, the method comprising:
- providing a portable device mount system comprising:
- a telescopic pole having a first end and a second end opposite the first end;
- a hanger coupled to the telescopic pole;
- and
- a device holder disposed near the first end of the telescopic pole, the device holder having opposite portions and one or more knobs;
- positioning a smartphone or tablet between the opposition portions of the device holder;
- actuating the one or more knobs on the device holder to squeeze the smartphone or tablet between the opposite portions;
- coupling a substantially rectangular sunshade to the device holder at or adjacent to the one or more knobs, such that the sunshade is positioned on top of, and substantially parallel to and flush with, a screen of the smartphone or tablet held in the device holder;
- executing, on the smartphone or tablet, a software application configured to record, analyze, or live stream a sporting event;
- and
- mounting the portable device mount system onto a structure.
The method of 12, wherein the sporting event is a tennis match or pickleball match and the software application is further configured for reviewing line calls.
