Abstract
A power drive unit for a vehicle includes a monolithic housing defining a cavity that is configured to house components. The monolithic housing includes a body, a plurality of protrusions, and at least one rib. The plurality of protrusions are spaced apart from each other and protrude away from the cavity of the body. The rib protrudes from the body and extends between two protrusions of the plurality of protrusions.

A power drive unit for a vehicle, the power drive unit comprising:
- a monolithic housing defining a cavity configured to house components, the monolithic housing comprising:
- a body;
- a plurality of protrusions spaced apart from each other and protruding away from the cavity of the body;
- and
- at least one rib protruding from the body and extending between two protrusions of the plurality of protrusions.
A power drive unit for a vehicle, the power drive unit comprising:
- a monolithic housing defining a cavity configured to house components, the monolithic housing comprising:
- a body including a first portion configured to housing a first set of the components and a second portion configured to house a second set of the components, the second portion of the body extends further outward in a radial direction than the first portion of the body;
- a plurality of bump structures spaced apart from each other along the second portion of the body and protruding away from the cavity of the body;
- and
- at least one rib protruding from the body and extending between two bump structures of the plurality of bump structures.
A power drive unit for a vehicle, the power drive unit comprising:
- a first monolithic housing defining a cavity configured to house components, the first monolithic housing comprising:
- a body including a first portion and a second portion, the second portion of the body extends further outward in a radial direction than the first portion of the body, the second portion of the body located proximate an opening where power unit components are inserted into the cavity;
- a plurality of bump structures spaced apart from each other along the second portion of the body and protruding away from the cavity of the body;
- and
- a plurality of ribs, at least one rib of the plurality of ribs protruding from the body and extending between two bump structures of the plurality of bump structures;
- the power unit components disposed within the body and including a first set of components housed within the first portion of the body and a second set of components housed within the second portion of the body, the first set of components contacting the first portion of the body and the second set of components spaced apart from the second portion of the body;
- and
- a second housing coupled to the first monolithic housing at the second portion of the body to cover the opening,
- wherein each bump structure of the plurality of bump structures has a C-shaped cross-section.
