Abstract
A radio-frequency identification (RFID) assembly is coupled to or formed with a label for a container. The RFID assembly comprises an antenna for receiving or sending a radio-frequency (RF) signal and a microchip. The microchip, in communication with the antenna, can store or process information and modulate or demodulate information via a radio-frequency (RF) signal. The RFID assembly, including the antenna and the microchip, is formed with or coupled to the label with the microchip disposed at a protected portion of the container.
Claims20
A radio-frequency identification (RFID) assembly coupled to or formed with a label, wherein:
- the label comprises a main body and a tab portion adjacent the main body;
- the RFID assembly comprises an antenna for receiving or sending a radio-frequency (RF) signal, and a microchip for storing or processing information, wherein the microchip is in electrical communication with the antenna;
- and
- the microchip is disposed within the tab portion such that the microchip is not located on or within the main body of the label.
A container comprising a label with an RFID assembly attached to the container, wherein:
- the container comprises a primary portion and a recessed portion adjacent the primary portion;
- the label comprises a main body and a tab portion adjacent the main body;
- the RFID assembly comprises an antenna for receiving or sending a radio-frequency (RF) signal, and a microchip for storing or processing information, wherein the microchip is in electrical communication with the antenna;
- and the microchip is disposed within the tab portion of the label such that the microchip is not located on or within the main body of the label;
- and
- the tab portion is positioned adjacent the recessed portion of the container.
