Abstract
A first storage system controller receives one or more read requests for data stored in a region of a storage device that is shared with a second storage system controller. When one or more write operations directed to the region by the second storage system controller are detected, the first storage system controller reconstructs the data from data stored on other storage devices. The reconstructed data is then provided in response to the one or more read requests.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- receiving, by a first storage system controller, one or more read requests for data stored in a region of a storage device of a plurality of storage devices shared with a second storage system controller;
- detecting one or more write operations directed to the region of the storage device by the second storage system controller;
- reconstructing data from data stored on other storage devices of the plurality of storage devices;
- and
- providing the reconstructed data in response to the one or more read requests.
A storage system comprising:
- a plurality of storage devices;
- and
- a first storage system controller and a second storage system controller operatively coupled to the plurality of storage devices, wherein the first storage system controller is configured to:
- receive one or more read requests for data stored in a region of a storage device of the plurality of storage devices;
- detect one or more write operations directed to the region of the storage device by the second storage system controller;
- reconstruct data from data stored on other storage devices of the plurality of storage devices;
- and
- provide the reconstructed data in response to the one or more read requests.
A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing instructions which, when executed, cause a first storage system controller to:
- receive one or more read requests for data stored in a region of a storage device of a plurality of storage devices shared with a second storage system controller;
- detect one or more write operations directed to the region of the storage device by the second storage system controller;
- reconstruct data from data stored on other storage devices of the plurality of storage devices;
- and
- provide the reconstructed data in response to the one or more read requests.
