An optical article includes a curved optical film wrapped about a central axis so that opposing first and second ends of the curved optical film join and form a seam therebetween. The curved optical film has an average thickness of less than about 500 microns and an average optical transmittance of greater than about 40% for a substantially normally incident light, for at least one polarization state, and for a first wavelength in a wavelength range extending from about 420 nm to about 1550 run. In a first cross-section of the curved optical film in a first plane that includes the central axis, the optical film has opposing first and second curved cross-sectioned portions. Across a middle 60% of at least one of the first and second curved cross-sectioned portions, the cross-sectioned portion has a minimum radius of curvature Rimin of less than about 15 cm.
An optical article comprising a curved optical film wrapped about a central axis so that opposing first and second ends of the curved optical film join and form a seam therebetween, the seam extending between opposite top and bottom of the curved optical film spaced apart by a distance H, the curved optical film having an average thickness of less than about 500 microns and an average optical transmittance of greater than about 40% for a substantially normally incident light, for at least one polarization state, and for a first wavelength in a wavelength range extending from about 420 nm to about 1550 nm,
An optical article comprising a curved optical film wrapped so that opposing first and second ends of the curved optical film join and form a seam therebetween, the seam extending from an open top to an opposite open bottom of the curved optical film, the open top and bottom comprising respective open top and open bottom perimeters, the curved optical film having an average thickness of less than about 500 microns and an average optical transmittance of greater than about 40% for a substantially normally incident light, for at least one polarization state, and for a first wavelength in a wavelength range extending from about 420 nm to about 1550 nm, such that:
