Abstract
A method for mounting an object to a surface using an adjustable installation device includes positioning a surface-facing side of a foot plate and a head plate against the surface. The method includes moving the foot plate and head plate in opposite linear directions along the surface to adjust the distance between them. The method includes fixing the foot plate and head plate in place relative to one another at a defined distance. The method includes rotating the head plate relative to the foot plate to align a guide holes centerline on the head plate with a defined plane. The guide holes centerline extends across a center of each of a plurality of guide holes formed through the head plate.

A method for mounting an object to a surface using an adjustable installation device, the method comprising:
- positioning a surface-facing side of each of a foot plate and a head plate of the adjustable installation device against the surface;
- moving the foot plate and the head plate in opposite linear directions along the surface to adjust a distance between the foot plate and the head plate;
- fixing the foot plate and the head plate in place relative to one another at a defined distance between the foot plate and the head plate;
- and
- rotating the head plate relative to the foot plate to align a guide holes centerline on the head plate with a defined plane, the guide holes centerline extending across a center of each of a plurality of guide holes formed through the head plate.
A method for mounting an object to a surface, the method comprising:
- placing a foot section of an adjustable installation device against the surface, the foot section being coupled to a second track member of the adjustable installation device;
- placing a head section of the adjustable installation device against the surface, the head section being rotatably coupled to a first track member of the adjustable installation device, the first track member being slidably positioned within the second track member;
- sliding the first track member relative to the second track member to set a distance between the foot section and a plurality of guide holes formed through the head section;
- rotating the head section about a pivot point to align a centerline extending through the plurality of guide holes with a defined plane;
- and
- using at least one of the plurality of guide holes to facilitate mounting of an object support component on the surface.
