Rotary valve

A rotary valve comprising:

• a housing in which a valve accommodation unit being cylindrical about an axis is formed;
• a rotor being housed rotatably about the axis in the valve accommodation unit;
• and
• a sealing object being disposed between an inner wall surface of the valve accommodation unit and an outer wall surface of the rotor, wherein
• a plurality of first flow path openings are formed in the inner wall surface and a plurality of second flow path openings that can communicate with the first flow path openings are formed in the outer wall surface,
• the sealing object has a structure in which a first seal is overlaid on a second seal, the first seal including first seal openings that communicate with a plurality of the first flow path openings and being disposed in such a way as to be in contact with the inner wall surface, the second seal including second seal openings that overlap with a plurality of the first seal openings and being disposed in such a way as to be in contact with the outer wall surface of the rotor,
• the second seal is divided into a plurality of pieces in a circumferential direction about the axis, and
• each of the pieces is supported unmovably with respect to the inner wall surface.
