Rotating control device

A method for assembling a rotating control device (RCD), the method comprising:

• positioning a bearing housing around a bearing body;
• positioning a load ring at least partially around the bearing housing, wherein the load ring comprises a tapered surface;
• positioning a seal below the load ring;
• positioning a landing adapter around the bearing housing, above the bearing housing, or both;
• positioning the bearing body, the bearing housing, the load ring, the seal, and the landing adapter within an RCD housing;
• moving a piston radially-inward through an opening in the RCD housing to contact the tapered surface of the load ring, which pushes the load ring downward and causes the load ring to axially-compress the seal, wherein the seal expands radially in response to being axially-compressed to prevent fluid flow between the bearing housing and the RCD housing;
• and
• rotating the bearing body, the bearing housing, the load ring, the seal, and the landing adapter with respect to the RCD housing and the piston, wherein the seal prevents fluid flow between the bearing housing and the RCD housing during the rotation.

A method comprising:

• positioning a bearing assembly between a first component and a second component;
• positioning a landing adapter around the bearing assembly;
• and
• coupling the landing adapter to the bearing assembly.
