Abstract

Disclosed is a device for preventing actuation of a telescopic prop. The device comprises a body arranged to embrace or enclose and grip an exterior surface of a telescopic prop; and a handle retaining portion for receiving and retaining at least part of a handle of an actuator of the telescopic prop. When the device is positioned on a telescopic prop with the at least part of the handle retained within the handle retaining portion, the handle is prevented from being manipulated in order to actuate the actuator. A first embodiment includes an adjustable latch attachment to tighten the grip of the two portions of the body on the exterior surface of the telescopic prop. A second embodiment includes an expansion loop and an expansion joint which expand to accommodate the diameter of the telescopic prop.
