Abstract
A removable banister device includes a staircase of a residential building and the staircase has an insertion element which is structurally integrated into the staircase. A banister has a leg which is insertably matable with the insertion element of the staircase. A pair of first couplers is each removably attachable an upper landing of the staircase. A pair of second couplers is each removably attachable to the banister. Each second coupler is releasably matable to a respective first coupler when the leg is insertably mated to the insertion element. The pair of first couplers and the pair of second couplers removably secure the banister to the vertical wall such that the banister can support the occupant when the occupant grips the banister.
