Abstract
A flapper assembly for a flush valve as well as method of assembly are provided. The flapper assembly includes a frame and multiple buoyancy assemblies attachable to the frame so as to adjust the buoyancy of the flapper assembly. The flapper assembly kit may have adjustable legs attachable to the frame. The flapper assembly kit may have multiple seal members for use in sealing with different sized/shaped valve seats of different sized flush valves.
Claims15
A toilet flapper assembly kit comprising:
- a main frame member;
- at least one leg removably attachable to the main frame member;
- a top cone engaged with the main frame member, the top cone defining a first cavity, the top cone positionable in at least a first angular orientation relative to the main frame member and a second angular orientation relative to the main frame member, the first and second orientations being angularly offset from one another about a first axis;
- a first cone having a second cavity, the first cone attachable to the top cone with the first cavity in fluid communication with the second cavity, the first cone having a first aperture formed therein to permit fluid to flow into and out of the first and second cavities;
- wherein positioning the top cone in the first angular orientation provides a first amount of buoyancy and positioning the top cone in the second angular orientation provides a second amount of buoyancy.

A toilet flapper assembly kit comprising:
- a frame;
- at least one leg removably attached to the frame, the at least one leg defining a pivot axis;
- a first hollow cone operably attachable to the frame such that when the first hollow cone is operably attached to the frame and the frame is pivoted about the pivot axis, the first hollow cone pivots with the frame about the pivot axis, the first hollow cone providing a first amount of buoyancy when operably attached to the frame;
- and
- a second hollow cone operably attachable to the frame such that when the second hollow cone is attached to the frame and the frame is pivoted about the pivot axis, the second hollow cone pivots with the frame about the pivot axis, the second hollow cone providing a second amount of buoyancy when operably attached to the frame, the second amount being different than the first amount;
- a first seal member having a first characteristic for sealing with a valve seat of a first size flapper valve assembly;
- a second seal member having a second characteristic for sealing with a valve seat of a second size flapper valve assembly, the second size being different than the first size.
