A control system enables an appropriate motion restriction control according to a work mode with a sufficient recognition by an operator. The control system includes: a mode detector that detects a current work mode; an object detector that detects a monitoring object; a notifier capable of notifying an operator; a controller that performs a motion restriction control based on the detection of the monitored object; and a motion restriction control switch allowing a stop operation for stopping the motion restriction control to be applied thereto. The controller performs: making the notification device notify a stop instruction that prompts the stop operation when a suspension work mode is detected during the execution of the motion restriction control; continuing the motion restriction control until application of the stop operation to the motion restriction control switch; and stopping the motion restriction control upon the application of the stop operation.
