A method for recovering metals from batteries providing for improved metal purity and recovery efficiency.
Claims9
A method for recovering metals from a LiFePO4 (LFP)-based lithium-ion battery, the method comprising:
- providing an atmosphere comprising hydrogen gas;
- and
- heat-treating the LFP-based lithium-ion battery in the atmosphere, wherein the heat-treating is performed at a temperature ranging from 1000° C. to less than 1200° C.
