Abstract
A nucleic acid construct for inducing expression of a polypeptide in a plant cell, the nucleic acid construct comprising a coding sequence encoding a polypeptide comprising a vanadate-dependent haloperoxidase (VHPO), or a functional fragment or homologue thereof; wherein the coding sequence is operably linked to one or more regulatory elements, suitable to drive expression of the polypeptide in a plant cell.
