Abstract
Fumed or precipitated silica milled in a first compressive milling step to a tapped density of 200%-1200% of the initial tapped density of the fumed or precipitated silica and milled in a second expansive milling step to a tapped density of 10% to 50% of the tapped density after the first compressive milling step.

A fumed or precipitated silica prepared by milling in a first compressive milling to a tapped density of 200%-1200% of the initial tapped density of the fumed or precipitated silica and milling in a second expansive milling to a tapped density of 10% to 50% of the tapped density after the first compressive milling.
