Abstract
The present invention aims to provide a borate compound which is soluble in aliphatic hydrocarbon solvents, capable of maintaining a homogeneous solution state even at low temperatures, and useful as a cocatalyst for the solution polymerization of olefin and diene. The present invention relates to a borate compound represented by the following formula (1): wherein each symbol is as defined in the specification, a production method thereof, and use thereof as a cocatalyst for the polymerization of olefin and diene.

A compound represented by the formula (1):
- wherein R1 and R2 are each independently a linear C16-20 alkyl group;
- R3 is a linear C3-8 alkyl group;
- and
- R4, R5, R6 and R7 are each independently a C6-14 aryl group substituted by one or more fluorine atoms or fluoro C1-4 alkyl groups.
