Abstract
Titanium oxide particles satisfying all of requirements (1) to (3). (1) The titanium oxide particles have a rutile crystal structure. (2) A unit cell of the crystal structure satisfies at least one of (a) or (b). (a) An a-axis has a length of 0.4594 nm or more. (b) A c-axis has a length of 0.2959 nm or more. (3) The titanium oxide particles have an energy gap of 2.90 eV or less.

Titanium oxide particles satisfying all of requirements (1) to (3) below:
- (1) the titanium oxide particles have a rutile crystal structure;
- (2) a unit cell of the crystal structure satisfies at least one of (a) or (b) below;
- (a) an a-axis has a length of 0.4594 nm or more,
- (b) a c-axis has a length of 0.2959 nm or more,
- (3) the titanium oxide particles have an energy gap of 2.90 eV or less.
