Abstract
A method includes providing, by the processor device, the detection of order among the wheel axles based on respective timing of corresponding vertical motion data from the wheel axles. For example, a second wheel axle may be indicated as occurring after a first wheel axle in the order, responsive to a timing delay between vertical motion data from the first wheel axle and corresponding vertical motion data from the second wheel axle. The method may also include determining an order among vehicle units of a multi-unit combination vehicle based on the detected order among wheel axles.

A computer-implemented method for detection of order among wheel axles of a multi-unit combination vehicle, wherein the multi-unit combination vehicle comprises vehicle units including a tractor unit and one or more trailer unit(s), for execution by a processor device of a computer system, the method comprising:
- providing, by the processor device, the detection of order among the wheel axles based on respective timing of corresponding vertical motion data from the wheel axles;
- and
- determining, by the processor device, an order among the vehicle units of the multi-unit combination vehicle based on the detected order among wheel axles.

A computer system comprising a processor device configured to provide a detection of order among wheel axles of a multi-unit combination vehicle, wherein the multi-unit combination vehicle comprises vehicle units including a tractor unit and one or more trailer unit(s), wherein the processor device is configured to provide the detection of order among wheel axles based on respective timing of corresponding vertical motion data from the wheel axles, and wherein the processor device is further configured to determine an order among the vehicle units of the multi-unit combination vehicle based on the detected order among wheel axles.
