Abstract
A printing apparatus includes: a roll holding unit configured to hold a roll on which a sheet is wound, such that the roll is rotatable in a first rotation direction for feeding out the sheet and in a second rotation direction opposite to the first rotation direction; a motor configured to rotate the roll held by the roll holding unit in the first rotation direction or the second rotation direction; a control unit configured to control the motor; an obtaining unit configured to obtain an outer diameter of the roll held by the roll holding unit; and a notification unit configured to provide a notification about a remaining length of the sheet on the roll held by the roll holding unit, based on the outer diameter of the roll obtained by the obtaining unit.
Claims12
A printing apparatus comprising:
- a roll holding unit configured to hold a roll on which a sheet is wound, such that the roll is rotatable in a first rotation direction for feeding out the sheet and in a second rotation direction opposite to the first rotation direction;
- a motor configured to rotate the roll held by the roll holding unit in the first rotation direction or the second rotation direction;
- a control unit configured to control the motor;
- an obtaining unit configured to obtain an outer diameter of the roll held by the roll holding unit;
- and
- a notification unit configured to provide a notification about a remaining length of the sheet on the roll held by the roll holding unit, based on the outer diameter of the roll obtained by the obtaining unit.
