Abstract
Inner cross-sectional areas of a pair of cylinders 21 and 22 in a direction perpendicular to a direction from a supply region AR1 to a kneading region AR2 is larger in the kneading region AR2 (cross-sectional area S2) than in the supply region AR1 (cross-sectional area S1) (S2>S1). Thus, a residence time of a resin raw material (resin pellets PR, molten resin MR) can be increased and processing capacity can be improved without increasing the size of an extruder 10, that is, without lengthening the pair of cylinders 21 and 22 and screws 50 and increasing the diameter of the pair of cylinders 21 and 22 and the screws 50. Therefore, it is possible to easily handle resin raw materials that require a longer residence time and use the extruder 10 for a wide range of melting and kneading applications.
Claims18
An extruder comprising:
- a cylinder including a first region and a second region;
- a screw arranged inside the cylinder;
- and
- a hopper provided in the first region of the cylinder and configured to feed a resin raw material,
- wherein a cross-sectional area of the cylinder perpendicular to a direction from the first region to the second region is larger in the second region than in the first region.
