Abstract
Provided is a golf putter having an array of cornual projections formed on a putter face, which structurally suppresses a golf ball on the green during putting from skidding and hopping and from acting/reacting such that movement distance suddenly increases after unintended backspin thereof, and functions to allow, at the same time as putting, forward spin of the golf ball in the proceeding direction and, specifically, to a customized golf putter with an appropriate groove member selected depending on green speed and the gender and physical conditions of a golfer. The golf putter includes: a head having a groove formed on a face, which comes into contact with the golf ball during putting; a shaft connected to the head through a neck; and a grip provided at the end portion of the shaft opposite to the head.
Claims7
A customized golf putter comprising a head having a groove formed on a face surface that contacts a golf ball during putting, a shaft connected to the head through a neck, and a grip provided at an end of the shaft opposite the head, wherein:
- (a) the head comprises a head body and a groove member,
- (b) in order to generate an instantaneous denting phenomenon during putting, a cornu-shaped protrusion array having a sharp needle structure at a vertex thereof is formed on a front surface of the groove member (a portion that contacts the golf ball during putting),
- (c) the protrusion array of the groove member is configured such that, based on a golfer's gender (male or female) and a golfer's physical condition (at least one of weight or height), at least any one of a size (a product of a base and a height) of the cornu-shaped protrusion, or a degree of sharpness (an inner angle of an vertex) of the cornu-shaped protrusion is designed to differ by predetermined values so as to form a plurality of types, wherein the customized golf putter is provided to allow selection of any one of the plurality of types,
- (d) the groove member is manufactured in a module form that can be separated from or connected to the head body, and
- (e) a shape of protrusions forming the protrusion array of the groove member has a shape of either a cone or a pyramid, and an angle between an edge (131b) of a first protrusion (131) forming the protrusion array and an edge (133a) of a second protrusion (133) adjacent to the edge (131b) is formed at any one angle of 60 degrees to 120 degrees.
A customized golf putter comprising a head having a groove formed on a face surface that contacts a golf ball during putting, a shaft connected to the head via a neck, and a grip provided at an end of the shaft opposite the head, wherein:
- (a) the head comprises a head body and a groove member,
- (b) an array of cornu-shaped protrusions having a sharp needle structure at their vertexes is formed on a front surface of the groove member (a portion that contacts the golf ball during putting) to generate an instantaneous denting effect during putting,
- (c) an array of protrusions of the groove member is provided such that, depending on a putting green speed standard, at least one of a size (a product of a base and a height) of the cornu-shaped protrusions or a degree of sharpness (an inner angle of an vertex) of the cornu-shaped protrusions is selected from among a plurality of types designed with a predetermined interval between them,
- (d) the groove member is manufactured in a module form that can be separated from or connected to the head body, and
- (e) a shape of the protrusions forming a protrusion array of the groove member is either a cone or a pyramid, and an angle between an edge (131b) of a first protrusion (131) forming the protrusion array and an edge (133a) of a second protrusion (133) adjacent to the edge (131b) is formed at any angle between 60 degrees and 120 degrees.
