Abstract
The present invention relates to a method for producing a fibrin gel, to the gel obtained using the method and to the use thereof in osteochondral injuries, meniscal injuries or ulcers. The invention also relates to a combination of a fibrinogenic concentrate and a platelet-free serum comprising thrombin and growth factors, for use in medicine.
Claims24
A method for producing a fibrin gel comprising the following steps:
- a) obtaining a platelet-poor plasma (PPP) from an anticoagulated blood sample from a subject,
- b) processing the PPP to obtain a first composition comprising a fibrinogenic concentrate,
- c) obtaining a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from an anticoagulated blood sample from a subject,
- d) activating the platelets in the PRP obtained in c),
- e) isolating the serum obtained after platelet activation to obtain a second platelet-free composition comprising thrombin and growth factors,
- f) mixing the first composition and the second composition,
- wherein steps a) to e) are performed in vitro, and step f) is performed in vitro or in vivo.
