Field-installable refrigerated cabinet kit, refrigerated merchandiser, and methods of use

A method of deploying a refrigerated merchandiser in the field, the method comprising:

• moving a preassembled reach-in cabinet through a doorway of a building with no shroud installed thereon;
• subsequently in the building:
• lifting a first self-contained refrigeration system onto the top wall of the reach-in cabinet, the first self-contained refrigeration system comprising a first sealed refrigeration circuit;
• lifting a second self-contained refrigeration system onto the top wall of the reach-in cabinet, the second self-contained refrigeration system comprising a second sealed refrigeration circuit;
• making a first plug-in electrical connection between the first self-contained refrigeration system and a main electrical distribution assembly;
• making a second plug-in electrical connection between the second self-contained refrigeration system and the main electrical distribution assembly;
• connecting a single power cord of the main electrical distribution assembly to a building power outlet;
• powering both the first and second self-contained refrigeration systems from the building power outlet via the single power cord;
• installing a shroud on the top wall to conceal the first and second self-contained refrigeration systems;
• and
• commissioning the refrigerated merchandiser such that the first and second self-contained refrigeration systems each independently cool a common refrigerated space inside the reach-in cabinet;
• wherein no field refrigerant connections are made in the building.
