Abstract
Methods and apparatuses for adjustment of SMTC configuration in a wireless communication system. A method of a UE comprises: receiving system information including assistance information and an SMTC including offsets for one or more SMTC windows; acquiring location information of the UE; determine, based on the assistance information and the location information, a propagation delay difference between a serving cell of the UE and a neighboring cell; adjust, based on the propagation delay difference, the offsets for one or more SMTC windows; and measuring an SSB received from a neighboring cell within the adjusted one or more SMTC windows.
Claims18
A method performed by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication network, the method comprising:
- receiving system information associated with a synchronization signal/physical broadcast channel block (SSB)-based measurement timing configuration (SMTC), wherein the SMTC includes a configured offset and a PCI of a neighbor cell for a SMTC window;
- identifying, based on the system information, a propagation delay difference between a serving cell of the UE and the neighbor cell of the UE;
- adjusting, based on the propagation delay difference, the configured offset for the SMTC window when the UE is in an idle or inactive mode and capable of SMTC adjustment;
- and
- measuring a SSB received from the neighbor cell within the adjusted SMTC window.
A method performed by a base station (BS) in a wireless communication network, the method comprising:
- transmitting, to a user equipment (UE), system information associated with a synchronization signal/physical broadcast channel block (SSB)-based measurement timing configurations (SMTC), wherein the SMTC includes a configured offset and a PCI of a neighbor cell for a SMTC window,
- wherein, when the UE is in an idle or inactive mode and capable of SMTC adjustment, the configured offset for the SMTC window is adjusted based on a propagation delay difference between a serving cell of the UE and the neighbor cell of the UE.
A user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication network, the UE comprising:
- at least one processor including processing circuitry;
- and
- memory storing instructions, wherein the instructions, when executed by the at least one processor individually or collectively, cause the UE to:
- receive system information associated with a synchronization signal/physical broadcast channel block (SSB)-based measurement timing configuration (SMTC), wherein the SMTC includes a configured offset and a PCI of a neighbor cell for a SMTC window;
- identify, based on the system information, a propagation delay difference between a serving cell of the UE and the neighbor cell of the UE;
- adjust, based on the propagation delay difference, the configured offset for the SMTC window when the UE is in an idle or inactive mode and capable of SMTC adjustment;
- and
- measure a SSB received from the neighbor cell within the adjusted SMTC window.
