Methods and Devices for Wake-Up Signaling of Wireless Devices

A method performed in a wireless device, the method comprising:

• receiving, from a radio node, a wake-up signal comprising an authentication pattern;
• determining whether the authentication pattern matches a verification pattern of the wireless device, wherein the verification pattern is determined according to a configured set of rules in the wireless device;
• and
• performing the following operations in response to a determination that the authentication pattern matches the verification pattern:
• performing a wake-up process in the wireless device, and
• transmitting an acknowledgement signal to the radio node.

A wireless device comprising control circuitry configured to:

• receive, from a radio node, a wake-up signal comprising an authentication pattern;
• determine whether the authentication pattern matches a verification pattern of the wireless device, wherein the verification pattern is determined according to a configured set of rules in the wireless device;
• and
• perform the following operations in response to a determination that the authentication pattern matches the verification pattern:
• perform a wake-up process in the wireless device, and
• transmit an acknowledgement signal to the radio node.

A method performed in a radio node, the method comprising:

• obtaining an authentication pattern determined according to a configured set of rules for a wireless device;
• transmitting a wake-up signal to the wireless device, wherein the wake-up signal comprises the authentication pattern;
• and
• receiving an acknowledgement signal from the wireless device, in response to the authentication pattern matching a verification pattern of the wireless device.
