System, apparatus and methods for coupling a voice coil assembly and diagrapham for acoustic transducer

A method comprising:

• defining a size for an acoustic transducer based on one or more product requirements;
• selecting a diaphragm design for the acoustic transducer, the diaphragm design having a diaphragm shape and a plurality of material properties;
• determining a bending mode distribution for the selected diaphragm design;
• defining a motor structure design for the acoustic transducer based on the selected diaphragm design, the defining of the motor structure design comprising a selecting of a voice coil design, a voice coil former design, a pole piece design, a motor return cup design, and at least one magnet design;
• selecting a modal coupler design for the defined motor structure design, the modal coupler design comprising a shaped body design, a first plurality of connecting arm designs and a second plurality of connecting arm designs, each of the connecting arm designs having a coupling foot design for connecting to a diaphragm design;
• and
• determining a location for placement of each coupling foot design on the diaphragm design.
