Abstract
An apparatus comprising a shaped central body having a first end and a second end, the first end of the shaped central body configured for receiving a shaped voice coil former, a first plurality of connecting arms extending from an outer surface of the shaped central body, a second plurality of connecting arms extending from the second end of the shaped central body, and a coupling foot on each of the first plurality of connecting arms and the second plurality of connecting arms, each coupling foot comprised of a structure for securely connecting to a diaphragm of an audio transducer.
Claims8
An apparatus comprising:
- a shaped central body having a first end and a second end, the first end of the shaped central body configured for receiving a shaped voice coil former;
- a first plurality of connecting arms extending from an outer surface of the shaped central body;
- a second plurality of connecting arms extending from the second end of the shaped central body;
- and
- a coupling foot on each of the first plurality of connecting arms and the second plurality of connecting arms, each coupling foot comprised of a structure for securely connecting to a diaphragm of an audio transducer,
- wherein the shaped central body, the first plurality of connecting arms and the second plurality of connecting arms are comprised of a structural material, the apparatus formed from the shaped central body, the first plurality of connecting arms, and the second plurality of connecting arms, each comprised of the structural material, the apparatus having a first longitudinal bending mode frequency that is greater than a first longitudinal bending mode frequency of the diaphragm of the audio transducer.
