Abstract

The present invention is a system and method for metadata-driven management of media assets throughout an automated lifecycle, wherein a source media asset is received together with instruction data defining processing parameters, entitlement rules, security requirements, and lifecycle controls, wherein the instruction data is interpreted to generate, at runtime, a dynamic processing profile based on both the instruction data and intrinsic characteristics of the source media asset, wherein the media asset is processed according to the dynamic processing profile to produce one or more output media assets that are registered for delivery only during authorized entitlement windows, and wherein the system further enforces automated lifecycle actions, including withdrawal of availability, reprocessing, replacement, and deletion of media assets based on the instruction data, without reliance on fixed transcoding templates or manual intervention.
