Resource consumption control

At least one computer-readable medium, comprising instructions stored thereon, that if executed by at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to:

• configure a forwarding element to:
• generate a representation of network resource consumption information along a path from a sender device to a receiver device and
• transmit a packet with the representation to the sender device, wherein the representation comprises an indication of a worst network resource consumption information associated along the path, wherein the forwarding element is to forward a packet received at an ingress port to an egress port.

A method comprising:

• a forwarding element performing:
• generating a representation of network resource consumption information along a path from a sender device to a receiver device and
• transmitting a packet with the representation to the sender device, wherein the representation comprises an indication of a worst network resource consumption information associated along the path.
