Signal transmission method and apparatus

A signal transmission method, comprising:

• receiving indication information from a second device, wherein the indication information indicates a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) port set and a code division manner for each DMRS port in the DMRS port set, and the code division manner is one of the following:
• code division on different subcarriers on a same symbol, code division on different symbols on a same subcarrier, code division on a plurality of subcarriers on a plurality of symbols, or code division neither on a subcarrier nor on a symbol;
• and
• sending a DMRS through the DMRS port set, wherein a resource occupied by a DMRS transmitted on each DMRS port in the DMRS port set is determined based on the DMRS port and the code division manner for the DMRS port.

A communication apparatus, comprising at least one processor, and one or more memories coupled to the at least one processor and storing programming instructions for execution by the at least one processor to enable the communication apparatus to:

• receive indication information from a second device, wherein the indication information indicates a demodulation reference signal DMRS port set and a code division manner for each DMRS port in the DMRS port set, and the code division manner is one of the following:
• code division on different subcarriers on a same symbol, code division on different symbols on a same subcarrier, code division on a plurality of subcarriers on a plurality of symbols, or code division neither on a subcarrier nor on a symbol;
• and
• send a DMRS through the DMRS port set, wherein a resource occupied by the DMRS transmitted on each DMRS port in the DMRS port set is determined based on the DMRS port and the code division manner for the DMRS port.
