Abstract
An avatar is caused to perform an action appropriate for an action of a user. In an action control system, in a case in which an action of the avatar includes dreaming and the action determination unit determines dreaming, as the action of the avatar, the action determination unit creates an original event obtained by combining multiple pieces of event data among pieces of data in history data.

A data processing apparatus comprising:
- a memory subsystem including:
- a volatile memory configured to store active processing data including model parameters,
- a main memory configured to store active state data including current emotion values and user state vectors, and
- a non-volatile storage device configured to persistently store:
- an action determination model,
- historical event records, and
- collected preference data;
- a processor configured to execute instructions stored in the main memory;
- a graphics controller configured to obtain image data and cause the image data to be displayed on a display device;
- and
- control circuitry configured to:
- load the action determination model from the non-volatile storage device into the volatile memory,
- receive input feature data derived from sensor signals,
- execute an emotion classification process on the input feature data to compute emotion values,
- store the computed emotion values in the main memory as part of the active state data,
- retrieve a plurality of historical event records from the non-volatile storage device,
- execute the action determination model to generate an original event by combining data from the plurality of historical event records,
- generate avatar behavior parameters based on the original event, and
- output rendering commands to the graphics controller to render an avatar performing actions corresponding to the avatar behavior parameters.

- receive sensor data representing a state of a user,
- compute an emotion value of the user by applying a trained neural network to the sensor data,
- retrieve a plurality of historical event records from the persistent storage,
- execute the action determination model to generate a dream event by combining and randomly transforming data from the plurality of historical event records,
- generate a dream image corresponding to the dream event using an image generation model,
- generate an explanatory text corresponding to the dream event using a sentence generation model, and
- output rendering commands to the graphics controller to display the dream image and the explanatory text as a dream diary.
