Abstract
An electronic device includes a housing defining an internal volume, and a battery disposed in the internal volume. The battery can include a first battery housing plate having a first thickness, a second battery housing plate having a second thickness, a plurality of stacked cells disposed between the first battery housing plate and the second battery housing plate, and a battery housing sidewall welded to and disposed between the first battery housing plate and the second battery housing plate, the battery housing sidewall having a third thickness greater than the first thickness and the second thickness.

An electronic device, comprising:
- a housing defining an internal volume;
- and
- a battery disposed in the internal volume, the battery comprising:
- a first battery housing plate having a first thickness;
- a second battery housing plate having a second thickness;
- a plurality of stacked cells disposed between the first battery housing plate and the second battery housing plate;
- and
- a battery housing sidewall welded to and disposed between the first battery housing plate and the second battery housing plate, the battery housing sidewall having a third thickness greater than the first thickness and the second thickness.
An electronic device, comprising:
- a structural housing defining an internal volume;
- and
- a battery disposed in the internal volume, the battery comprising:
- a first battery housing plate;
- a second battery housing plate;
- a battery cell disposed between the first battery housing plate and the second battery housing plate;
- and
- a battery housing sidewall extending from the first battery housing plate to the second battery housing plate, wherein the battery housing sidewall is welded to the structural housing.
An electronic device, comprising:
- a housing defining an internal volume;
- a battery assembly disposed in the internal volume, the battery assembly comprising:
- a battery housing, including:
- a first plate;
- a second plate;
- a sidewall welded to the first plate and the second plate, the sidewall being thicker than the first plate and the second plate;
- and
- a battery cell disposed between the first plate and the second plate;
- and
- a component within the internal volume welded to the sidewall.
