Abstract
The present invention alleviates the problem of false high values in a method for quantifying protein by using a complex in which a metal is coordinated with a dye. In this method for quantifying a protein in a specimen by using a complex in which a metal is coordinated with a dye, the protein is reacted with the complex in the presence of an aromatic carboxylic acid or a salt thereof.
Claims20
A method for quantifying protein in a specimen or for improving false increases when quantifying protein in a specimen, the method comprising reacting the protein with a complex in which a metal is coordinated with a dye and of which an absorption wavelength shifts when the protein binds to the complex, in the presence of an aromatic carboxylic acid or a salt thereof.
(canceled)
A reagent for measuring protein, comprising:
- a complex in which a metal is coordinated with a dye and of which an absorption wavelength shifts when the protein binds to the complex;
- and
- an aromatic carboxylic acid or a salt thereof.
A method for producing a reagent for measuring protein, the method comprising mixing:
- (i) a dye selected from the group consisting of:
- pyrocatechol violet, pyrogallol red, bromopyrogallol red, o-hydroxyhydroquinonephthalein, and gallein;
- (ii) at least one of:
- an oxyacid salt, a halide, a complex salt, or an organic or inorganic acid salt of a metal selected from the group consisting of:
- molybdenum, tin, and iron;
- (iii) an aromatic carboxylic acid or a salt thereof;
- and
- (iv) a buffer solution.
