Abstract
A floor panel includes a substrate, a decorative layer of wood veneer on the substrate, the wood veneer including an upper surface and a side edge, wherein the side edge is formed by a cross cut through the wood veneer, and wherein the wood veneer has a thickness of 1 millimeter or less, a lacquer layer including a transparent or translucent surface material on the wood veneer. The lacquer layer extends at least upon the side edge of the wood veneer, such that the side edge is at least partially covered by the lacquer layer.

A floor panel comprising:
- a substrate;
- a decorative layer of wood veneer on the substrate, the wood veneer comprising an upper surface and a side edge, wherein the side edge is formed by a cross cut through the wood veneer, and wherein the wood veneer has a thickness of 1 millimeter or less;
- and
- a lacquer layer comprising a transparent or translucent surface material on the wood veneer;
- wherein the lacquer layer extends at least upon the side edge of the wood veneer, such that the side edge is at least partially covered by the lacquer layer.

- a substrate;
- a decorative layer of wood veneer on the substrate, the wood veneer comprising an upper surface and a side edge, wherein the side edge is formed by a cross cut through the wood veneer, and wherein the wood veneer has a thickness of 1 millimeter or less;

- wherein the floor panel has lower edge regions on one or more edges.
