Abstract
Provided herein are methods for preparing alkali metal-carbon alloys from metals and sources of elemental carbon comprising applying mechanical force to a precursor mixture.
Claims32
A method of making an alkali metal-carbon alloy comprising:
- contacting a group 1 metal with a source of elemental carbon to form a precursor mixture;
- and
- applying a mechanical force to the precursor mixture;
- thereby producing the alkali metal-carbon alloy.
