Abstract
A particulate detergent composition comprising a plurality of detergent granules, wherein said composition comprises (a) from 10 wt % to 60 wt %, by weight of the composition, of a major surfactant, and (b) from 0.02 wt % to 0.45 wt %, by weight of the composition, of a co-surfactant.
Claims13
A particulate detergent composition comprising a plurality of detergent granules, wherein said composition comprises:
- (a) from 10 wt % to 60 wt %, by weight of the composition, of a major surfactant, and
- (b) from 0.02 wt % to 0.45 wt %, by weight of the composition, of a co-surfactant,
- wherein said major surfactant is selected from the group consisting of a C10-C20 linear or branched alkylalkoxylated sulfate (AAS) surfactant;
- a C6-C20 linear or branched unalkoxylated alkyl sulfate (AS) surfactant;
- a C10-C20 linear alkyl benzene sulphonate (LAS) surfactant;
- a methyl ester fatty acid sulphonate (MES) surfactant;
- alkyl alkoxylated alcohols and any combinations thereof,
- wherein said co-surfactant is a betaine or a sultaine,
- wherein the weight ratio of said major surfactant to said co-surfactant ranges from 20:1 to 2500:1.

A method of making detergent granules, wherein the detergent granules comprise:
- a major surfactant;
- and a co-surfactant,
- wherein said major surfactant is selected from the group consisting of a C10-C20 linear or branched alkylalkoxylated sulfate (AAS) surfactant;
- a C6-C20 linear or branched unalkoxylated alkyl sulfate (AS) surfactant;
- a C10-C20 linear alkyl benzene sulphonate (LAS) surfactant;
- a methyl ester fatty acid sulphonate (MES) surfactant;
- alkyl alkoxylated alcohols and any combinations thereof,
- wherein said co-surfactant is a betaine or a sultaine,
- wherein the weight ratio of said major surfactant to said co-surfactant ranges from 20:1 to 2500:1,
- wherein the method comprises the steps in sequence:
- A1) mixing the major surfactant and the co-surfactant to form a mixed paste, and
- A2) drying the mixed paste to form the detergent granules, or
- B1) drying the major surfactant to form major surfactant particles and drying the co-surfactant to form co-surfactant particles, respectively, and
- B2) mixing the major surfactant particles and the co-surfactant particles to form the detergent granules.
