Abstract
A sealant composition, including red mud, cement, an epoxy resin, and a crosslinker, has been developed. The incorporation of red mud into the sealant composition allows for the generation of a hard, rigid gel that can be used for both primary and secondary cementing applications, such as servicing a wellbore.
Claims19
A method of servicing a wellbore, comprising:
- applying a sealant composition to the wellbore, the sealant composition comprising:
- about 1 wt % to about 10 wt % red mud;
- about 1 wt % to about 10 wt % cement;
- about 85 wt % to about 95 wt % epoxy resin;
- and
- about 1 wt % to about 10 wt % crosslinker.
