This disclosure methods of sealing water-bearing formations using a sealant composition, including red mud, an epoxy resin, and a crosslinker.
Claims20
A method of sealing a water-bearing formation, comprising:
- applying a sealant composition to the water-bearing formation, thereby sealing the water-bearing formation, the sealant composition comprising:
- about 5 wt % to about 15 wt % red mud;
- about 80 wt % to about 90 wt % epoxy resin;
- and
- about 2 wt % to about 4 wt % crosslinker;
- wherein the sealant composition does not comprise cement.
