Abstract
A rubber composition that comprises a highly saturated diene elastomer containing 1,3-diene units and more than 50 mol % of ethylene units is provided. The rubber composition bears, at one of its chain ends, a functional group of formula —CH2—CH(CH3)—COOZ, Z being a hydrocarbon group substituted by an alkoxysilane or silanol function. The rubber composition further includes a crosslinking system and a reinforcing inorganic filler. The highly saturated diene elastomer is a copolymer of ethylene and a 1,3-diene or a copolymer of ethylene, a 1,3-diene and an α-monoolefin.

A rubber composition, comprising:
- a saturated diene elastomer containing 1,3-diene units and more than 50 mol % of ethylene units, and the saturated diene elastomer bearing at one of its chain ends a functional group of formula —CH2—CH(CH3)—COOZ, Z being a hydrocarbon group substituted by an alkoxysilane or silanol function,
- a crosslinking system, and
- a reinforcing inorganic filler,
- the saturated diene elastomer being a copolymer of ethylene and a 1,3-diene or a copolymer of ethylene, a 1,3-diene and an α-monoolefin.
