Abstract
Fibronectin type III domains (FN3) that specifically bind to CD8A, related polynucleotides capable of encoding CD8A-specific FN3 domains, cells expressing the FN3 domains, as well as associated vectors, and detectably labeled FN3 domains are useful in therapeutic and diagnostic applications.

A diagnostic kit for detecting human CD8 Å, the diagnostic kit comprising:
- (a) an isolated CD8A binding fibronectin type III (FN3) protein comprising an amino acid sequence selected from any one of SEQ ID NOs:40-269, wherein the protein has a residue substituted with a cysteine at a position that corresponds to residue 54 of a sequence of SEQ ID NO:79, 81, 83, 89, 122, and 68;
- and
- (b) instructions for use of the kit.
