Abstract
A method for forming pairs of packs, comprising providing a supply of individual packs, arranging a first pack in a vertical transport device, arranging a second pack in the vertical transport device, thereby arranging the second pack vertically spaced from the first pack in the vertical transport device. The method further comprises vertically transporting the first and the second pack in the vertical transport device, then simultaneous pushing the first and second packs as a pair of packs out of the vertical transport device and into a receiving device, wherein the first and second packs are transferred in a vertically spaced manner as the pair of packs to the receiving device and are arranged in a vertically spaced manner in the receiving device.
Claims18
An insert for a carton configured to accommodate a plurality of packs, wherein the insert is formed from a blank comprising first and second outer panels and first and second inner panels, the first and second inner panels being connected to each other along a line, the first outer panel being connected to the first inner panel by a first connecting panel, and the second outer panel being connected to the second inner panel by a second connecting panel, wherein the first and second connecting panels each have a width substantially equal to a depth of one of the plurality of packs, wherein the blank is configured to be folded such that the first and second outer panels form substantially parallel outer walls of the insert, the first and second inner panels form a pack spacer substantially parallel to and extending between the first and second substantially parallel outer walls, and the first and second connecting panels each form a bottom wall of the insert, thereby to define first and second chambers to receive first and second rows of packs, the first and second rows of packs spaced from each other by the pack spacer.
A blank of sheet material for forming an insert for a carton configured to accommodate a plurality of packs, the blank comprising:
- first and second outer panels and first and second inner panels, the first and second inner panels being connected to each other along a line;
- a first connecting panel connecting the first outer panel to the first inner panel, and a second connecting panel connecting the second outer panel to the second inner panel;
- wherein the blank is configured to be folded such that:
- the first and second outer panels form substantially parallel outer walls of the insert;
- the first and second inner panels form a pack spacer substantially parallel to and extending between the substantially parallel outer walls;
- and
- the first and second connecting panels each form a bottom wall of the insert to define first and second chambers configured to receive first and second rows of packs spaced from each other by the pack spacer;
- and
- wherein at least one of the first and second outer panels includes a plurality of pre-cut portions configured, after the blank is folded, to be displaced out of a plane of the outer panel and into a respective one of the chambers to form pair spacers configured to space adjacent packs from each other within the row of packs received in the respective chamber.
