Abstract

A mixing appliance includes a base and a drive assembly. The drive assembly includes a motor and a drive shaft. The motor is configured to rotate the drive shaft. Furthermore, the mixing appliance includes an indexing assembly. The indexing assembly includes a gearset. The gearset includes a first gear and a second gear. The first gear is rotatable by the drive assembly. The second gear is configured to be intermittently engaged by the first gear during rotation of the first gear. Additionally, the second gear is rotatable by the first gear during intermittent engagement of the second gear by the first gear. Furthermore, the indexing assembly includes a rotatable member. The rotatable member is rotatable by the second gear. Moreover, the rotatable member is configured to manipulate food content.

Dependent claims

A stand mixer defining a vertical direction, a lateral direction, and a transverse direction, the stand mixer comprising:

a base;
a support column coupled to the base and extending vertically upward from the base;
a head coupled to an upper end of the support column and extending from the support column above the base;
a drive assembly including a motor and a drive shaft, the motor configured to rotate the drive shaft;
and
an attachment coupled to the head, the attachment comprising:
an outlet through which food content exits the attachment;
and
an indexing assembly, comprising:
a gearset including a first gear rotatable by the drive assembly and a second gear configured to be intermittently engaged by the first gear during rotation of the first gear, the second gear rotatable by the first gear during intermittent engagement of the second gear by the first gear;
and
a rotatable member rotatable by the second gear, the rotatable member configured to manipulate the food content exiting the attachment.
